“I was not satisfied with my professional speaking voice. My voice was soft and airy; at times weak and shaky during difficult conversations or stressful situations. I wanted to improve the quality of my voice and reduce my embarrassment of feeling inadequate to express myself. I needed professional help. A quick goggle search of “speaking voice lessons” brought me to Linda. Truly angels were working to connect me to the most outstanding teacher I could have wished for. Linda is fantastic. She is so knowledgeable, experienced, patient and passionate. She provided me a safe and caring environment to learn how to use my voice by training the mechanics of my body and strengthen my mind with the right thinking about how I present my voice. She has nurtured my emotions to love and be at peace with my authentic voice. Using the techniques and lessons from Linda, I now feel much more competent in my professional work to express myself in a genuine manner.”
“I was diagnosed with spasmodic dysphonia about 7 years ago. The onset of this vocal disorder came on very abruptly and was affecting my job as a medical sales representative. Like most everyone who struggles with spasmodic dysphonia, I worked with an ENT physician and a speech pathologist who both specialize in voice and speech disorders. After receiving several botox injections as well as general speech therapy, both without success, I decided to look at other treatment options.
Linda Brice, the founder of the Transformational Voice Institute in Portland, Oregon, came as a recommendation to me through a mutual friend. I chose to make an appointment with Linda not with the intention of “curing” my vocal disorder but to develop different vocal techniques to maximize my speaking potential.
I’ve been studying with Linda for almost 3 months now and the progress that I’ve made has been remarkable. Linda hasn’t just focused on vocal therapy techniques but has taken a holistic approach to my disability which has proven to be incredibly successful. Linda combines speech and vocal therapy techniques, relaxation and breathing exercises, along with her observational intuition to develop a complete curriculum which has improved my speaking ability to the point where I oftentimes forget about my speech disorder. The best part of my sessions with Linda is that she has provided me with a bag of tools and techniques that I will be able to use forever.”
